Users of the camera will not have any problems understanding the menu system. Canon designed the menu system to be user friendly for novice and causal photographers. The only problem may lie within accessing half of the scene mode options. You will only see the most common scene selections at first glance, but you will have to press the display button to open the secondary list of scenes when you get to the far right of the list of options.
